I had spaghetti in Philippines at Jollibee. Jollibee is one of the most famous fast food chain here in Philippines. You can find it anywhere. Their signature dish is the fried chicken. I've heard that it's very tasty so I wanted to try and I went there for the first time.
I've ordered chicken and the cashier lady asked me if I wanted rice or spaghetti so I ordered spaghetti to go and went back to the hotel room.
I sat down and started to eat chicken and then spaghetti....omg...it was sweet!! I mean it's sweet as in sugar sweet! I was soooooo shocked! because my tongue was expecting to taste tomato sour and tasty source but it was like dessert sweet source....
Then I found out the spaghetti here in Philippines can be very sweet.
Even in supermarket, they sale "Philippines style" spaghetti source.
Now I've learned....here in Philippine, you need to ask if the spaghetti is sweet or not lol
However I should mention that if you go to supermarket here in Manila, the choice of pasta you can buy is so many!
This is the picture of pasta area in the supermarket and it's this section is ALL pasta!
So I think a lot of people in Philippines loves pasta๐
It was a true cultural difference experience indeed.
It's not that they don't have Italian style spaghetti source but there are choice of "Philippines style" and you just need to make sure and order what you want.
So be aware, there are "Philippines style" spaghetti source! ๐
